Franchise with a national driving school? No bloody way!

Countdown to the end of Aprils’ Free instructor training offers

Are you becoming a victim of the cut throat, price slashing, industry destroying big driving schools? They are probably causing many independant driving instructors to go broke or get out of the driving instruction industry.

Fight them if you can by keeping your pricing at a reasonable level, if you can’t do that because you have to compete or you are franchised to one of the big driving schools  then let other people know the big schools are destroying the livelihoods of  some of  the smaller schools because of  their couldn’t care less attitudes.

5 Top tips for your ADI part 3 test

Driving instructor training

  1. Well before your ADI part 3 test make an appointment for a friendly chat with a part 3 examiner, any will do but if you know the one that’s going to test you, that one is better. Chatting to a part 3 examiner before your part 3 test can help a lot, not only with nerves, you may also get a few tips that you hadn’t thought about, don’t underestimate it.
  2. Turn up for your ADI part 3 test dressed like a professional, you lose browny points in jeans and T – shirt.
  3. Make sure your car is clean inside and out, if you smoke make certain to deoderise your upholstery, remember it is now illegal to smoke in any company vehicle.
  4. If the examiner is portraying a full licence holder on your ADI part 3 test, don’t treat them like complete novices.
  5. Phase 2 parallel parking can become a phase 1 if the examiner says he has never done it before

Big driving schools, rip off training or not?

Tell people what you think of training to be a driving instructor with any of the large national driving schools. Be honest and name the schools, good or bad.

I train driving instructors mainly for the ADI part 3, I do lots of “recovery” training.  Most of the people I train have had very bad experiences when training with some of the national driving schools. I hear comments such as “my trainer just took the micky out of me and made me feel humiliated” and “I paid thousands of pounds after seeing the TV adverts, and as soon as they got my money they simply didn’t care about me” lots of others say things like “my training was confusing and sub standard.”

What do you think, tell us your thoughts or experiences with them.

Your post could save some one a lot of heartache and money, if you had a good experience with a certain school, it could give them hope.

Magic cure found to stop ADI part 3 trainees turning into Zombies

Years ago after my ADI part 2 success I was on top of the world, nothing could keep me from going on to pass the ADI part 3, it was going to be as easy as pie and I was on a high

Then I started looking at the online driving instructors forums, I became more and more depressed after reading the horror stories from people that had taken the ADI part 3 and failed, I began to get the impression that it would be easier to become an astronaut and fly to the moon, even the posts from some instructor trainers made me feel that it was an almost impossible task, and I hadn’t even taken any training yet

I was turning into a part 3 Zombie

I shudder even at the thought of the state of my mind back in those horrible days

My outlook on life was rapidly deteriorating into a demoralising mush of technical bullshit that I was told I must memorise because if I didn’t spew it all back out of my mouth at the S.E. in the correct order on my ADI part 3 test I would have no chance of becoming a qualified ADI

I decided not to commit suicide and try a little part 3 training, I contacted a local instructor and booked a three hour training session with him, or so I thought.

I arrived at the meeting place and the instructor turned up over half an hour late, he asked me to get in the back and introduced me to the TWO other guys in the car, we then got on the road and did some “training”

I was told to give a briefing on moving off and stopping, I was very nervous as the guy I had swapped places with had been told what a load of crap his efforts at briefings were, I began to wonder if my instructor was going to teach me how to complete this imperative and extremely important task or simply take the micky out of me while putting my hard earned cash into his very fat wallet

Needless to say, I made a complete and utter balls of the job and had the micky taken while the trainer filled his wallet

I went home even MORE demoralised and confused and my Zombie like state of mind got worse, I learnt NOTHING……..ZERO……..ZILCH about how to pass the ADI part 3 but I did learn that learning nothing cost me LOADS of cash that I could hardly afford

This went on for a few more sessions and I was very depressed about it all and became quite run down and ill in general

Then a fellow trainee who had recently passed her part 3 told me she was in the same state as myself a few weeks previous and she was on the brink of giving it all in rather than staying in Zombie land, until her confidence was raised sky high after a phone call to another instructor trainer, explaining to me that this trainer really knows what he’s doing as far as preparing trainees for the part 3 test, she went on to get training with this guy and passed with 5 – 5

I placed my suicidal thoughts aside again and gave him a ring…..she was right, I phoned Jon from purrfect systems took a days training, no messing about, just really amazing fun without any negative bullshit,  just me in the car and passed the following week in Hull, got 4 and a 5 hey a green badge is a green badge. Thanks Jon.

If the ADI part 3 test seems to be a problem in your mind then please read the following

Click here for the home page
Everything that has happened in your life to the present was born of thoughts… to put it simply let’s say for example that you own your own home (or anything else ) Before that home became yours you thought about it lots, if your thoughts at that time had been negative ie :- ‘there is no way I can afford this’ then you would still be in the situation you were in before you decided to buy

See what I mean? the same applies to the way you deal with your ADI part 3

Work it out, – focus on positive and happy thoughts about the part 3 and get the correct positively motivated training from a trainer that knows how to train you and you will find the ADI part 3 so much less stressful and even enjoyable because you can actually understand what you need to do, you can then go on to take your ADI part 3 with confidence and have a much higher chance of passing as you begin to realise that the ADI part 3 is far easier and so much less confusing than you may have been led to believe

Be positive and use a trainer that knows how to show you the easier ways to achieve your green badge

ADI part 3 testimonial

Hi Jon,

I am writing purely to thank you for the excellent training you provided prior to my successful second attempt  at the Part 3 test on monday. The nine hours we spent together over three sessions wasn’t long, considering the work needed to turn around my performance under test conditions, but your teaching methods are so effective they soon began to rectify the problems i was having. Your direct but friendly, encouraging and down to earth approach was just what i needed to make me “see the light” concerning the nature of the test itself and how to improve enough to pass it. Your methods both inspired and motivated me and I am certain i wouldn’t have passed without the extra confidence and improvement in technique you gave me – it was money well spent – and my sense of relief on passing is, well, indescribable!

I was confident enough to hope for a 5 and a 4 when i turned up for the test. I got a 4-4 on the day but that was mainly due to nerves and i now know i am better than that in my real life teaching. The part 3 test is not the easiest time i have had in my life but your teaching really helped me handle the stress of the situation and realize the test is not as daunting as most people think.

So many thanks again for all your help Jon. I don’t think i would be starting on my new career right now if i hadn’t discovered you. Please feel free to add this letter to your website testimonials if you wish – i would be only too glad to recommend you to anyone who contacts you regarding your services and who needs a genuine opinion, based on my experience of you. I was lucky enough to find you in time, as i hope many others will in the future.

John Howard.
